Belmont Elementary School in West Baltimore has been presented with the America’s Healthiest Schools Award for a second time in recognition of the school’s efforts to prioritize physical, mental and social-wellness among students, staff and families. Throughout the week, Belmont takes an intentional and interactive approach to health, featuring days like Wellness Wednesday, Thoughtful and Thirsty Thursday and Physical Friday. Lead health and wellness instructor, Coach Donte Samuel stated, “We’re investing in these kids’ health and in their understanding of living a healthy lifestyle.”
